Yoyoyo 2I! :)

I'm here to tell you more about CEDAR EXPRESS YOURSELF DAY! :D

Ok, as you heard today, Cedar Express Yoursef Day (CEYD) is going to held on 31 July, Friday (one day after my b'day! hahaha!) So, it's similar to last year, however there are certain things that will be different. Right, let me list down the important details of the CEYD.

1. The theme for students this year is 'Youth Signatures', which means that you can wear anything that you think is your own signature, your personality. Basically, you can wear anything under the sun, and need not follow the theme.

2. However, as you guys can wear home clothes to school, please take note of the following rules:
- No wearing of FBTs.
- Nothing that offends the other racial/religious groups.
- No alteration to the school uniform (e.g. wear the blouse without the tie).
- No cross dressing.

3. Yup, like last year, to participate in this event, we must pay $2. If the whole class participates, then each person will just have to pay $1.50. All proceeds will go to the School Building Fund. Yes, I know that you guys don't see the light into paying, especially to our School Building Fund. But all these will contribute to the excellent facilities that we'll be enjoying next year! It's we who are benefitting, cos we will be using it, and it's all to our advantage. What's more, I'm sure $1.50 is nothing compared to what you guys normally spend at the movies or a Pizza Hut meal. :)

4. There might be a hall event, which is the fashion show. The venue is still tentative, cos due to the H1N1 situations, we might not get to hold it in the hall with so many people. You know, social distancing? Haha. So the alternative plan is that the fashion show won't be in the hall. Instead, we will stay in class and the judges will go around to the participants' classes to judge.

5. Let me elaborate more on the fashion show (assuming every thing is conducted in the hall). Every class can send an individual or a group of max. 4 people to take part. It is not compulsory, but encouraged. It's like last year, you will be judged on your creativity and overall performance. Overall performance means how you walk on stage, whether you look confident on stage etc. Haha.

6. Lessons will carry on as per usual, except for the last period where we'll have our hall event (fashion show, assuming that it's still being carried out).

7. Oh, speaking of the hall event, besides the fashion show, there will also be an 'inspirational talk' by the Singapore Mount Everest Women's Team who have just succesfully completed the climb on Mt Everest. We are one of the first schools to be attending their talks! I think because we pulled some strings, as 2 of the women are ex-Cedarians! :D Haha.

8. Class points will be awarded for the competition, and maybe class unity.

I (and some other friends) really encourage us, as a class, to take part. Not all because of the class points, but because I personally want to have a fun as a class, you know, I can foresee that it will a very fun day! Most of us did have a fun time last year right? Do you still rmb how some teachers wore school uniforms? Like Ms Ng and Mrs Menon wore the Cedar uniform. Hahaha!

Ok, I'll leave the rest of the convincing part to Xin Yu in class. Haha! Give it a thought, ok? ;)
